Hey there, Noir here! Back again with another Pokemon concept, this time expanding the evolution line for Wattaby. I noticed that Electric/Fighting and Electric/Psychic are both unused as of yet, which was quite surprising.

These two are rather over-designed and don't look quite like Pokemon, from what I have gathered. So in a sense, these are rejected Pokemon, but I still wanted to share the art I made for them. Hopefully, somebody enjoys them regardless!

POKEMON CONCEPT
--------------------------

The concept for these Pokemon come from large macropodes (kangaroos) of Australia and solar arrays. They are the final evolutions for the Pokemon Wattaby and can be seen as counterparts of each other.

SOLVREEN: A Solvreen can seen as an ascendant form of a Wattaby. A Wattaby grows up all at once to a Solvreen, which is why it has a more child-like appearance to its counterpart. Its skin is metallic but paper-thin, and gives a light static shock when touched. The Pokemon rarely opens its eyes, a trait carried over from its previous form; the color of the eyes is a solid lilac. A Solvreen's tails curl and sway gently, resembling a dress billowing in the wind; this design is also carried over from Wattaby, which props itself on its tails. The Pokemon is able to float thanks to the electricity stored in these tails, enabling it to magnetically levitate. Solvreen is based on the Eastern Grey, or Great Grey Kangaroo, the second largest kangaroo species in the world. Its sleek and minimalist design is made to evoke a sense of otherworldliness, or of a space suit. Its legs are tucked into its own pouch to resemble a futuristic, floating chair. The marks around its 'eyes' are inspired by Aboriginal designs for the sun. In battle, this Pokemon's high defenses and special attack plants this Pokemon firmly as a tanky special attacker. Its low speed may also be a commodity for certain moves.

ARCBUMA: Arcbuma is designed to be the logical conclusion of a 'fighting kangaroo.' Evolving from Suluru, the Pokemon becomes faster and deadlier, with the caveat of lowering its defenses. Its legs give it extreme reach, and enable it to move and evade quickly. Arcbuma's design is based on the Red Kangaroo, the largest kangaroo in the world. The 'armor' the Pokemon wears resembles a gi, mixing futuristic and tribal elements. The Pokemon's armor is lighter and more flexible to allow for faster, unobstructed movement; with the dark parts marked to resemble an electrical circuit and the white parts decorated with Aboriginal designs. Its two smaller tails resemble untied ends of a black belt. Stats-wise, this Pokemon sacrifices its defenses for much higher physical attack and speed, specializing it as a speedy glass cannon.

Solvreen comes from the words 'sol,' Latin for sun, and 'sovereign.' It has incidental similarities to the words 'wolverine,' an unrelated mammal, and 'culverin,' a prototype to Renaissance-era cannons.

Arcbuma is a combination of the words 'arc,' as in arcing electricity or 'arch,' and 'boomer,' another word for a kangaroo jack. Alternatively, the 'boom' can also be a reference to a common move used by electric-types, Sonic Boom.
