Maravilhosa! Luz e cor bem definida!
Sou suspeita por falar visto que Tomar e especialmente o Convento de Cristo são locais espantosos para a fotografia.
Linda a foto, mesmo! Parabéns!

This picture is breathtaking in the detail that it shows. You did a very nice job in capturing the beauty of this architecture. Well done!

Also, does that angel on the very left have his head stuck in a ladder?

The textures in this shot are simply amazing. They are so sharp and crisp, yet the lighting and coloration gives this picture a certain softness, too. You can feel the age running through this picture... it takes you back to a different time. The perspective here is great, along with the composition.

Your exposure here is perfect - I love the detail in the shadows. Superb!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

peitxon In reply to timtam [2004-12-28 11:17:20 +0000 UTC]

you like the exposure? it really was hard to do this shot because I always kept getting a burned area on the window.
The problem was that I couldn't take 2 different shots with different exposures and put them together. why? I had no tripod and actually my camera was on the floor over my coat, the best tripod I could find. So no way I could shot the same frame twice :S

This was the best I could do... glad you liked it

timtam In reply to peitxon [2004-12-28 23:02:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes I really do -- I can see that you would have had trouble with the windows, but then they're not the subject, rather we're interested to see detail in the darkest areas. You've achieved this without multiple overlayed exposures and without washing saturation. In the end I think the light remaining in the windows really adds to the composition as well, this being a holy place and all.

There are so many things I like about this picture. The intricate designs above and around the door and windows, the paintings, the cracked, aged ceiling, and the light and perspective of the photo. Well done.

shatterdrose [2004-05-30 05:02:23 +0000 UTC]

Ah, such a great picture. It does justice to those paintings on the walls. I love how the windows are overblown in this shot, allowing enough light to illuminate specifically the paintings on the far wall, giving this piece a nice focus. Altough, the windows are a tad distracting, but there's not much to do about that.

Also, the way the picture winds Is pretty Interesting to say the least, makes you follow the ceiling, taking in all the detail you can, though It would have been nice to be able to see It a little more, but as Is gives It a nice, romantic, mysterious feel to It that really compells you to thinking you are back In the times when this was built.

And who said you can't find great things by just looking up?
