I LOVE that top one. I don't care what anyone says. It's fucking adorable. Frank and Nancy FTW.I drew these one morning while I was perusing DC alone. My mom had an actuarial conference there, so I had a few days to just sightsee on my own. The top one I started in a cafe, when I saw a couple walk down the street outside hand in hand. It made me miss my girlfriend, so for some reason the idea for the top drawing just came out.
The second one is on the subway, obviously, when I was just plain daydreaming. I finished both at the zoo and at the Tidal Basin. Too bad I can't draw cherry trees because they were in bloom.

OMG! this is so romantic! you can totally see frank and nan in DC, talking over lunch, thinking it looks innocent. in the subway part, you just know some vagrant is staring at nancy in a way that makes frank want to knock his lights out. so he gives the guy a "bug off, creep" look. the subway jerks to a stop and nancy tetters. Frank makes a barrier around her with his arms and steadys her.
sorry, i see vagrants staring at nancy everywhere. and somehow, in my world, it's never ned who saves her... it's always frank

I've been to Washington more than once, and I was first introduced to Margharita pizza at a restaurant that is on the same street as the Russian Embassy. Also, I had Margharita pizza at a place called Fireflies, which used to be a garage.
