The bubbles are actually paintbrushes. I don't remember where I got the single bubbles. However, the lovely bubbles that look like they are moving were made by kaykaykit.

Now everyone may partake in her lovely bubbles! ^3^

That was the intent. ^3^ And the deep ocean is cool that way cuz it lets me work with perspective too. Whee! For the blurry bubbles that look like they are too close to the camera. X3

Yeah... but I couldn't get any picks with the flash off. Their lights didn't show. But I got some with the flash on. Someone put their fingers on the glass. XP

I think they are Pinecone fish.
That sucks. Poor fishies. The one in Japan only had one fish that was shark eaten. He's a giant Gruper but I think he had his revenge since he's still kicken. He just has half a face. O3o

Hah, hah! I love their eyes! The one in the middle looks like an alien. XD
I've never understood why they put the fish in WITH the sharks... XD Makes no sense to me.

Simulates the real ocean rather then just fish tanks I guess. They did keep some sharks seperate in a tank of their own. Two tigers, a Saw nose, and two other injured sharks. A larger grey shark with a bend in his back and a smaller yellowish on missing half of one of his pectoral fins. He could still swim alright but only in one direction. He couldn't turn the other way. All the rest were in a giant tank with the tuna, rays, and Whale sharks. But they did have some little babies and a pair of adult giant nurse sharks in the tanks with the angel fish and other colorful ones.

Whale Sharks are amazing. XD There's a pair in Georgia you can swim with. I plan on going SOMEDAY. XP Thankfully they're not much of a threat to the fish. Feel bad for those crippled sharks though.

Yeah. The ones they had were really cool. But they don't keep them. They had three last I was there. They show them for 3 years and then release them to keep them happy and wild. They have them tagged so they know which ones are which and when they had them last when they go looking for ones to put in the tank. To keep them from catching and releasing one over and over so the animal doesn't get stressed.
Better living in a tank getting tender loving care for the injuries then getting picked off in the ocean atleast. Majority of the animals at that aquarium were rescued animals. Intended to be released once better or kept if not releaseable. They have an amazing breeding program for Various sea turtles and Manatees there. They had just sent their baby Manatee to a sanctuary before I got there but they had Lots of baby turtles!

Aw, that's awesome! X3 I didn't know they did that. -nods- I'm glad they don't keep them; such a big animal deserves to be where they belong. I heard a rumor about a blue whale in an aquarium somewhere, but I guess you'd need a mighty big tank for one of them. XD

Peanuttie In reply to the-jabberwookie [2008-04-09 16:21:47 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. It was pretty cool. They used to show specials about the aquarium on Tv there. And in the Shark area they had a sign on the wall that said they were trying to get a Basking shark. But I couldn't tell if they were trying to get a live one or get remains to put in the museum they had. they had an old Great white skin mounted on the wall (had to be like 100 years old from the look of it), and a set of Megalodon jaws, and various skeletons so you could learn more about sharks. With items here and there with different bite marks in them. All kinds of stuff. They even had a Hammerhead in a case and some Deep sea sharks.
Blue whale? Its probably a calf. If they do have one they would only keep it till its big enough to fend for itself. Even a hump back whale would be way too big to keep. I think Orcas are the largest animal they can keep safely. Cuz I know several aquariums have tried keeping great whites and failed.

I've got a megalodon tooth. X3 It's amazing. Couldn't imagine running into one of those... Gotta' find that thing. XD It was like $200...
