Description I had hoped to have it finished yesterday to celebrate Normoon's "birthday". But in doing this I reminded myself that there's no such thing as a "quick" Normoon drawing. She's just too complicated.

How can a fictional character have a birthday, you ask? Well, I created Normoon exactly two years ago yesterday. I figure that's as close to a birthday as it gets. At first I wanted to mimic the pose of the original exactly, but I realized that the main reason I did the arms and hands like that was because at the time, I was unable to draw them from other angles. Now I can, so I did! Then I started changing up all sorts of things, and came to this.

I left the background white for several reasons. For one, this is really complicated already with just Normoon and I thought a background would detract. I considered something really simple or a flood-fill of color but decided on white for contrast and ease. Also, the original seemed so right with just white and I wanted to celebrate that in this piece. And lastly, I'm lazy. Can't make a kick-your-face-off background for every piece, right?

I do love Normoon. She's my second fave of your characters. Love her color, her Eastern flair, her garments and her colors... I really like the eyes here

Normoon...elegant and beautiful like always. She really is hard to draw, but when it is finished it comes out cool, for she is such a fantastic character.

You made her here so beautiful. Her hair, clothes, pose are fantastic! And the combination of purple and green looks really nice.

Hehe, it is nice that you know your characters birthday I actually don't know exactly of my characters, but it isn't hard to find out, since all I need to do is to look for the first drawing of them and see the date All I know is that Aspis is the eldest. He has 6 years, more or less. Lusiada and Malcata are a lot more recent. Oh hell, I'm talking to much

Hope to see more from Normoon! Since the first time I drawn her, she became one of my favourite characters of yours.

My seasonal creatures are older than my anthro characters. Of my anthros, though, Cleo is the oldest, followed by Shirinara, Dia, Normoon, and Chaka in that order. Shirinara is actually an incarnation of a much older character, though, so in a way she's the oldest one. I keep all of my artwork in drawing books with the dates written on each piece, so I always know exactly when they were created.

Aspis is my oldest character, because he is also the incarnation of another character of mine. He belonged to a different story, but now I see that story as rubbish...when I came up with this new story, of anthros and stuff, Aspis had to enter it. Lusiada needed a friend (and more than that) to make her company in her adventures.

anyways Lovely picture Peach <3 seems that Normoon has came quite a ways =3 looks so different style-wise to the original! I need to draw her again o.o; especially since her birthday was yesterday! o.o;

Have you noticed that my proportions have changed wildly over the years? Everything I drew in 2005 was long and thin, and they kept getting shorter and wider. Normoon looks a foot shorter in this pic than the old one. XD

I often see the people decide the character's birthday but no one show the extract birthday, the created day, so this is first thing. of course I haven't remember my character's birthdays.

I think drawing the Normoon is really hard because of the stripes and the costume. I often think the transparent costume is very very hard.

I write the date on all of my art, so I know exactly what day I drew everything. My grandmother wisely told me to do this when I was quite young.

Yeah, Normoon is hard to draw. XD She's my most complicated character. It's difficult sketching her because the paper gets horribly messy with lead long before I'm done, so I end up inking things before I'm even done sketching! I get confused and ink things, wrong, too. There's a mistake here with the inking but no one has noticed yet...

I thought about that when I named this. Petal Dance is one of my favorite attacks because it's pretty and strong and saves PP. Actually, though, I was half-way through the coloring before it occurred to me to call this "Petal Dance" since she is dancing with petals. XD No connection intended.

Tabby, you're too nice to me. Thank you! Sometimes it feels really good to forget the background and focus on the character. But I noticed that it's much harder to get a clean scan with just white because every imperfection shows up.

I edited out all of the little spots and blotches I saw, but every time I look I see more that I missed. XD When the whole paper is colored, you can't see all the little flaws...

Thank you, Skye! I found that I can get very subtle shading by using the same color on top of itself once it has dried and did that a lot on her fur.

Thanks. I tried a new technique for coloring the transparent fabric. I just don't like that it became muddy on her sleeves.
