My hands are wound tightly together above my heartMy eyes are shut and do not wish to open
'Please, please, please…" I repeat over and over
I hope with all my heart that my dreams will take me somewhere else
Reality is something coarse to the touch
And my hands are soft
My heart is shy, nervous, and jumpy
I ask for courage to touch the asphalt
To get on the bus
Climb the stairs talk to others
Present my projects
My heart! Please don't fail me now
Please don't jump into my voice
Nor make me quiver
All I ask for is a little bit of strength
