Thanks, They are 111 year old fisherman and dockers cottages. The few who are not destroyed by the bombardments in WW2. They cost about 100.000 dollar. Their owners have some tax benefits becouse of the monumental status, but can't make any changes to them.

Indeed, especially the people who own one. They are basically volunteer-caretakers. If you are intersted in more historic dutch architecture you can google photos of "zaanstad" or "zaanse schans".
