Refs were used for draperies.

sweet work, I really like the dark and myserious feeling of it, and you have some very interesting colours. I especially like the strong red that you put into some places, the work on the drapery and the clouds.
The hands and arms do look a bit too outlined though, I think, you should work on that a little more. but otherwise, great work

Daniel

Kaytara [2008-01-13 01:10:03 +0000 UTC]

A beautifully simple and symbolic piece.. For some reason I perceive the woman as the ultimate embodiment of war-associated suffering - she's thin, unkempt, with sunken eyes and a face that normally probably would've looked rather attractive with a bit of sleep and a nourishing diet. And despite all that, the woman seems incredibly strong, the kind of person whom circumstances have tried time and again to break, but who's only grown stronger as the result.
So many different things in one picture.... A noteworthy painting, that much is clear.

Very interesting comment. Thank you very much, you mede me look at my work in kinda different way.
There is only one thing that I would correct - she is thin (and what made me a bit sad) because I used myself as a reference, I haven't actually any deeper thought about her weight Oh well I'll keep trying to pick up some weight

Hey , you don` t want to hop over at CA to do some mentoring regarding digital painting by any chance ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

pawlack In reply to corky13 [2007-12-26 15:50:13 +0000 UTC]

Oh I posted it at my CA skethbook But me mentoring? It is me who needs mentoring But I can help.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

corky13 In reply to pawlack [2007-12-27 13:35:06 +0000 UTC]

*g* Every artists needs to learn , true. But even if you consider yourself more as a mentee then a mentor , you could still give us newbs with absolutely no idea of digital painting a startout there is always soemthing to learn as well as to teach. (okey...now i sound like a hypocrite because I should do some mentoring myself before asking others -,-)
