Description I just got an e-mail from old friend who I hadn't been in contact for a few years and he sent me a scan of an old drawing I did of his D&D character, a goblin named Toady.
Many stories could be written about this predictably unpredictable mischieviously evil foul smelling prankster, but suffice to say he was a fun draw.

Oh ya, you guessed it...ballpoint pen on scrap piece of paper....enjoy! I did! hahaha

Toady has a lot of character! how can you imagine such details about the features. you're simply amazing.

Thank you very much!!! My friend Bill developed his personality over many D&D campaigns back in the 80's so it felt like I knew Toady personaly which made it easier to draw him.

I remember sitting on a Vampire's desk explaining to him that "This is my Hat. My god gave it to me.... And then proceeded to check out the drawers of said desk... while he conversed with the party." sigh... you just can't buy entertainment like that anymore.

I think it was the rabbits with one-eye's face on them that tipped the scale on his personality... and the snakes. All in the middle of a battle. Just to good.

Thanks! Actually, my buddy based Toady's personality on a combination of the personalities of Goblin and One-Eye! Always stirring up shit and deadly in a tight corner!

Nice to find another Glen Cook fan out there. Was pretty sure I was the only one as ppl kept asking "so what kind of name is that?". Oh well, at least two of us have good taste.

LOL! As soon as I saw your name and avatar I knew I had to check out your page. I never really got into Cook's other stuff but the Company was brilliant. Yup, nice to see another Company fan.

You know bow and arrow would be great at a protest... those arrows can prolly go through kevlar... ( I say this because he looks like a protester...) all smelly like.

Very well done.

Toady was nothing if not pure entertainment. Luckiest little SOB ever to roam the D&D world. And Paulo did a great job capturing him. I have had the picture for years and its still one of my prized ones from you.

Boy this is a long hallway...

He's over there on the counter somewhere.

I was scrolling down thru the comments and suddenly the words "Ethangar on Toady" jump out at me and I just burst out laughing!!! You old son of a gun, what a thoroughly pleasant surprise! Yup! he was one entertaining little evil prankster! But One-Eye got him good once when Toady, as usual, took off down this tunnel and One-Eye enlarged Toady's pomp pomp on his toque so when the party caught up to him they found the tunnel blocked by a giant fuzzy ball. :rolf:

That's just amazing. Your attention to detail is incredible!
You should be doing character portraits for D&D books!
Your work is better than a lot of illustrators I have seen, for D&D or otherwise.

Now thats just bloody great! Again i see Woodroffe (and i mean that as the highest compliment- the guys a god after all ) but you've bought your own thing to it. The detail is just phenomenal- flies, tattoos, mucous n' all- you've really gone to town here and there is a great sense of mischief and character just oozing from the piece. Even the scrap paper, which can often detract from a piece adds, to the sublime grottiness of the whole thing (something i'm sure Mr Toady would be perfectly happy with!) Yep, great work!

Thank's man!! That certainly is a mighty high compliment!!! And I definitely agree with you about the scrap paper, kinda ties it all together rather nicely even though it was totally unintentional.
