And yes, my new cartoon obsession is Gravity Falls. The very second I heard the intro, I was hooked. I highly recommend it!You can see the finished version of this sketch here !

I'm not sure if he is actually the "biggest" villain, but he is certainly persistent and crazy one.

I really don't blame Mabel for not dating him. Heck, if I had been in her place I would do the same as her and avoid him like the plague. Not only is he creepy, but he's a total jerk, especially to Dipper.

Oh, the dialog made me chuckle:
Mabel: "But we can still be makeover buddies, right? Wouldn't you like that?"
Gideon: "Really?"
Mabel (taking his medallion and shouting): "No, not really. You were such a jerk to my brother, what the heck? "

She actually says "You were, like, attacking my brother, what the heck?", which I found absolutely hilarious.
And I don't think Gideon will be the main villain of the show. It seems to me like it's more of a "several threats" kinda deal with this cartoon. It's obvious Gideon will be a recurring villain and possibly the most important rival of the twins, but we haven't seen enough yet to rule him as the main antagonist of the whole series. He definitely has his part to play, but with all the other suspicious characters going around there's simply no telling. I personally wouldn't mind seeing him again though; he's a good source of conflict for Mabel and Dipper and has a lot of potential as a full-fledged character.

But my biggest question so far is: how far will Alex Hirsch be able to push his luck with all those jokes, references and hints. I mean, c'mon: "Sascrotch"! "Put on your blindfolds and get into my car" etc.
Haha, true, it's surprising he managed to get the Sascrotch and other border-line jokes in a Disney cartoon. But I think that as long as the show is successful and gathers enough money, Disney doesn't actually care. The only way I can see them draw a strict line would be if someone complains about the jokes to the point that it actually becomes a problem. But seeing as the show is targeted towards young teens and is regarded as a teen cartoon by most, I doubt it will come to that. It's those kind of jokes that makes its charm, after all.

Yeah, negative relationships between siblings seems to be a regular thing in cartoons. It's nice to have a little change of pace with Dipper and Mabel. It's true that June and Ray Ray had a similar relationship, but like you said, they had their fair share of bickering too. XD

I actually wonder why are they propagandizing such thing, instead of aiming cartoons at developing a sense of trust and cooperation between siblings. It doesn't have to be implicative, but for God's sake: Eddy was beaten mercilessly by his brother, Kanker sisters constantly fought over boys, Terrance tortured Mac on several occasions, Mushi and Kuki / Abbyy and Cree had a lot of disputes too. And I didn't forget Yin Yang Yo, where twins had fights constantly.
And then GF comes around. Fans like me praise creators for making them friendly to each other, and others call us pedos for even suggesting that two might get a little closer than siblings probably should

I guess they just obey to the stereotype that siblings are supposed to fight all the time. In some cases it's actually needed; for example, Mac probably wouldn't have created Blu if he hadn't been bullied by his brother. But it's true that this kind of pattern is not as entertaining as two sibs just having fun with each other. I want to say Phineas and Ferb started this trend, but it's not really the case when you think of Candace and Phineas' relationship. XD
Gravity Falls really earned the praise it's receiving. Not only for creating two of the most adorable twins ever, but for trying to turn the tables around and do something different. Even Grunkle Stan surprised me with the second episode. At first, I never thought he'd be the type to want to bond with his nephew and niece, but he sure proved me wrong.

That's the thing about Grunkle Stan: he just doesn't seem like the type who would have a family, and he certainly doesn't act like it even if all he wants is a bit of bonding time. It's obvious he hasn't really had any practice, so he doesn't know how to approach Dipper and Mabel without sounding like a creeper. XD
