I just found out myself recently! I thought it was two groups of birds instead of a male and female of the same species. /o/ you're welcome

Yeah, because they looked so similar it was just the colour that looked different, but i thought it could just be a related species of a bird.

It's further complicated because...in florida at least, there are 2 grackle species, boat tail and common,and they often fly around in groups together. If you ever see any with really fluffy head and body feathers, that's a common. Same coloration for male and female though, black and brown.
