There's something about an image of my favourite pony struggling to do what she loves that's the ultimate sucker punch to the heart.

Maybe Applebloom could build something to help and AJ would feel obsolete then competitive and back to usual self....and that was probably an episode idea if the series ever featured an ep in the future
