Description Ok, this one is still a bit of a WIP.... done with crow quill dip pen and ink.

Pedopenna is only known from the legs with feathers preserved, but it is very similar to other very "birdy dinos" like Archeopteryx and Microraptor in both anatomy and time... so it seemed to me that reconstructing it as a basal "bird" was reasonable.

Recent analysis of Archeopteryx shows that it too had leg feathers, but I'm not sure they were as extensive as in Pedopenna.

I'm not sure where to go from here with this little guy... do I leave it as is, or do I add more to the image. Mind you, it's only 2.5 x 3.5 inches... and I don't think I want to clutter it up.

So what do you think... where do I go from here with this one?

Hmm... Carrying off, Baby Godzilla? Or a small mammalian rodent?

Might be a bit too much for the little card.

How did you and the family do after Irene? No more falling trees I hope!

Nope. No more falling trees. We got through pretty well. We had prepared for heavy rain by freeing up some places where the water could be dammed by pine needles and such.

The Holderness lake was a surprise when I was driving to work on Monday as well as seeing how high the water was along Tenny Mt. highway.
