This is my interpretation inspired by the work of the amazing poetry writer who's also my DA buddy . I consider it my collaboration work as this piece was 100% inspired from her written piece "ONE"

Graphically I wanted to create a piece of work that reflected the poem, displaying emotions, pain yet at the same time not wanting to over emphasis on the darkness of the image.

"Why do we hurt the ones we love most"
"Only you can dissolve all of the pain"

The character (male) is walking away from his lover, tearing her heart open and leaving her to die from a broken heart. On the left hand side I've added some feathers which represents crow feathers which you can see the shadow of the crow above the male figure in the distance. The crow often represents darkness and death; that is why I have intentionally used it in this piece.

While the guy is walking towards the "light" his former lover is broken hearted, torn apart yet she still waits and longs for his return.
