I guess they rely on people feeling like that

i would like to praise the photo and i will for the workmanship but..i can not praise the subject..we do nothing as a society..Australia has a lot to offer..for some..but for all the social issues they ignore and pretend they do not exist..how many times have i heard 'we are cleaning up the city'..meaning-we are going to shove all the homeless somewhere else..don't really care as long as they are out of sight...hard job you have ahead of you..

Well all we can do is give the people who are trying to help the people (salvo's/smiths) the support they need, they do great work i give to them on a regular basis but we could all do more

this picture caught my eye right away .
perfect composition and i like how you managed to capture the movement of the people surrounding him , as if they just walk by without noticing .
great shot !

We are too busy with our own lives, if it makes us late or puts us out is anyway we will try and avoid it..like confrontation thats another thing we are avoiding more and more...oh and responsibility

yes , some of them , but some of them really do wanna change and get hold of their lives .
but instead of noticing , people just walk by without even drawing any attention , as if they were " too low to be noticed " , even thou it's obvious that if they don't get any kind of help , they'll end up dying there , in the streets , with no one . would anyone THEN notice ? i don't think so ---
i know i'm not the one to talk , since i usually pass them by , too , but not always .
but that is still sad .
and in general too , once i eg read this article about a man who made some tests by wearing a neat suit and suitcase and everything , and then going to lay down on the ground in the middle of a public place , looking like he had got a heart attack . i don't remember how many people passed him by , but it was MANY , and only really , really few actually stopped to help him .
people are too afraid to look around .

a very powerful image, someone else said it perfectly - the rush of the people going past and the sitting with head down position of the guy shows the opposites

I really love how you have captured the manic rush of everyday life for the majority of people, juxtaposed to the sadenning solidarity of the homeless man. I very emotive shot.
