Description
Trade withHer OC, Gleampaw, battling with my OC, Earthpaw. Earthpaw is about to get rickrolled, but so far, he thinks he's doing well.
She requested a dramatic rainy background ^.^ It was fun to do.
I'm really pleased with it - while its not my best in terms of coloring/detail (sorry, I save that for commissions, if I did for trades then nobody would ever bother to commission me!), the poses were slightly difficult, and I feel like I got the anatomy pretty good considering that. My only problem is one to do with common sense, which, apparently, I lack - the rain probably should be falling in the direction the grass is bending due to the wind... derp..

We are RPing these characters at , so I hope we can play out this scene in the future and maybe I can submit this to the group. For now, I'll keep it out just because Earthpaw is currently still Earthkit, so technically this can't have happened yet!

Well, it does really help with anatomy ^.^ It's not perfect, but its close enough and I can feel proud to not use references.

I guess since I was a child, like most people ^.^ LOL. But that's why I draw stick figures first - it makes it easy not to need a reference. It doesn't usually look perfect... but it does work, and it gets close enough. Such as for this picture - do you really think I'd find a reference for these poses XD lol.

well I've drawn all sorts of animals, not just cats... I don't like drawing people. They are just too varied looking. And for som reason, I can't get the anatomy on them to look good. I mean, I can generally get good proportions, but things like shoulders, waists, even arms look funny in shape... Plus... They're PEOPLE. Animals are so much more fun ^.^

I think the same way xD but sometimes i really wish i could draw people. My friends and family often as me why i draw only animals. They find it kind of boring and stupid xD

I'm sure if my family knew what I was drawing, they'd rofl at me and ask me the same thing. LOL! But I don't care, I just draw what I like. I'm not looking to make a career or a living off of it, so I don't feel the need for a "varied portfolio" or anything that most people mention when it comes to art. I just keep my mouth shut - nobody even knows I still draw a lot ^.^
It makes me happy, and that's the whole point of doing it, so I'm not going to start drawing humans or anything just because others might think I should. I'll probably not deviate from the "fanart" thing either, because it gives me something to actually draw - on my own, its like I have no muse.

Sometimes, i fell a little guilt drawing almost only fanart because some people think it's just to get watchers.

I don't feel guilty, I don't really care what people think. I do fanart because it gives me something to do, and because I have an attachment to the story and characters. What else am I going to do??? Random animals?? I have a hard time being passionate about that. Why would I want to just sit around and do wildlife pictures?? I might as well not bother and just become a photographer instead.
I could care less about watchers ^.^ I just want to draw what I enjoy.

I'm so glad you like it! I was worried! I saw you respond to my other submission and not this one and was all OMG SHE'S AVOIDING IT!!!! lol. I know its a little sketchy looking, but I was really pleased with how it turned out ^.^ I credit the sky entirely to you, I probably never would have used these colors if you hadn't requested stormy dramatic lighting! It was probably one of the funnest backgrounds I have ever done.

Have fun with your storm! How are into the book are you now? Did you finish the first one? The first series went by so fast for me, I couldn't put it down. The rest haven't been as good... but are still enjoyable.

I finished the first book, and I asked my parents if they could take me to the library sometime, so I can aquire the second one.
Ha! It did for me, as well! I was up all night, finishing it, because I couldn't put it down. I was out of my bed, pacing my room, because It was so exhilerating! XD
