Design is both inauthentic and overused by other artists. Great problem of HTF art fandom is lack of creativity, so we are doomed to see totally similar arts.
OK, so, design. Inauthentic. Flaky is too pretty, and Flippy... poor, poor Flippy. Unfortunately, most of people humanize him like that - 17-or-less years old pretty subtle bishie with emo hair. Which is just plain wrong, as Flippy resembles veteran of special forces. Not to mention the fact that artists constantly replace his beret with that funny shapeless cap.

I'll try to study more about the characters next time and do my best to make a better illustration that would fit the characters' humanization design.

For beginners, for those, who want to make cute fanart, I would recommend draw characters in their animal forms. What's for human versions, everyone should follow KAB00M on pixiv.
