My wife, TreeClimber , took photos of the lunar eclipse that happened early last Saturday (April 4th 2015) morning, but I was way too tired to stay up and do the same. So, I thought, how about a challenge and recreate it in my own time? I used one of her photos as a reference to recreate the look.

COMPOSITION: Subdivided sphere created and textured in Lightwave. I used a number of various textures to create a 16k texture and bump map, and the camera was setup to match the view at the time with a total of 3 light sources. The render was then post processed in Photoshop to add some more shading, glows and blurry clouds that were visible that morning.
