Here is my 1000 watcher special. I wish I had had time to come up with something more, but I noticed I was about to reach 1000 so late I didn't have time to prepare.

I've never done the Draw This Again meme before, though I have naturally revisited many of my old creations in the past. I wanted to stay true to the the original drawing, so I went back to the style of black outlines and shading that I haven't really done in over 10 years. Interestingly the end result reminds me of Hyrotrioskjan 's artwork.

The "owlosaur" was one of my first semi-serious attempts at coming up with a speculative dinosaur, and among the first I ever shared with anyone online. It was part of my now defunct (but possibly to be resurrected) Dinosaurs of the Ice Age, which ended up merging with the Speculative Dinosaur Project when that got started. Poor little owlosaur was among the ones that got left out, unfortunately, so this is my attempt at giving it another chance as a more plausible Holocene maniraptoran.

I have posted a higher resolution version of the redesign here , with a new colloquial and scientific name as well.
