JOY - ~chrysocome
I haven't had a chance to discuss the outfit so I'm going to do that here.

The pink dress is based on an Alice in Wonderland pattern altered to include a collar and much more poofiness. It was my first time seriously putting in a zip so yay. It was also the first time I focused on making a "real" garment in all the stitching (in the past, I have focussed on making the entire outfit look right, but have not particularly paid any attention to rules and making an outfit that could potentially be sold in a store).

The apron was theoretically supposed to be from the Alice pattern but it was completely the wrong thing, so I started from scratch. You can't see it here, but the apron was a bit of a challenge at the back, because it is not tied up at the back of the neck. Instead I had to make the halter come around my arms and join back up at the front. I also had a massive bow which you could see from the front. It was a new challenge. The bow was a separate piece and was stiffened using internal wire.

The wig. FFFF. The hair loopies have a core of pink pipe cleaners wound around eacher other to form a stiff base. The wig hair was hot glued around this, and the outermost strands held in place with cotton thread in the same colour. White ribbon tied in bows helped to hide the seams. Lots of hair spray and hair drying got the fringe to curl as it did - I'm still not happy with it honestly. The hat was made from scratch. On the inside is craft foam, with the white fabric sewn to sit on top. The hat was pinned through the wig and my hair to make it stay on. My wig was also pinned to my wig cap because we wanted that sucker to stay on - the skit involved me going upside down. I initially had trouble hiding my real black hair because the wig hair was so thin, but ~forever-girl cleverly concealed it by spirit gumming my skin toned wig cap down around the edges (to the distress of my poor exfoliated skin later when I had to take it off).

Shoes were store bought - they were perfectly what I wanted when I was not expecting to be able to find them. ~forever-girl supplied me with a bag and various medical supplies. I borrowed the pink stethoscope from work.

I painted my eyebrows with white oil based paint and then covered it in blush.

I also made a million felt zubats plushies for our skit, but I'll talk about those later in a photo where you can actually see them.
