The concept behind this did not translate as well in my opinion as it could have, but we still like how it turned out. The backstory here is that Laser Man was originally designed to put on holographic laser shows at world tours with a musical band, and is generally a huge hit. However, a mysterious contractor decided to borrow Laser Man for research purposes, and even upgraded his lasers to be not only brighter but also hotter, essentially weaponizing them. His main attacks involve firing multiple lasers at once from his arms while generating light mirrors at certain points to help guide his lasers towards moving targets. When pressed, he can also use a giant laser from his chest that deals considerably more damage than usual. However, this giant laser causes him to overheat, prompting a short break from attacking or moving after it. Laser Man's primary weakness is Prism Man's weapon, the Prism Attack, given that it can distort Laser Man's light mirrors and send his lasers back at him. The reason why this would deal extra damage is because Laser Man wasn't originally designed for combat, so the increased power of his lasers would cause stress on his systems. While using these lasers causes enough stress on his systems, getting hit by them is too much. As such, he suffers from Metal Man syndrome and is also weak to his own weapon, the Ardent Laser. Speaking of that, the Ardent Laser, the weapon obtained from defeating Laser Man, is a simple laser beam that can be aimed in multiple directions to hit a variety of targets. It bounces off of reflective surfaces and pierces the guards of certain weaker enemies. We decided to make this weapon the weakness of Planet Man due to the events of many sci-fi scenarios, some in the Mega Man franchise, where a laser is used to defend against approaching celestial bodies. In addition, Planet Man relies on isolation from external sources, so his weakness to a strong laser that his space station wasn't designed to handle has its toll. In addition, for the reasons mentioned above, it is also effective against Laser Man himself.
