This is an art Nouveau version of my Alicorn OC, Auntie Dote. The hair was HELL (allll caps!) but I'm happy with how it came out.

Auntie's Back Story:

Born an ambitious young Unicorn in the time before Celestia and Luna's rule, Auntie Dote has always lived up to her name. As a young filly she was often gruff and curt with those around her, but like the bitter medicine she dispensed, she always made ponies feel better in the long run, despite some temporary ill feelings. Her talent with herbal and natural medicines earned her a blue cross and leaf cutie mark, symbolizing her calm healing talents.

As an adult, Auntie formed a foal's hospital simply known as "The Hospital on the Hill" after a terrifying plague began taking the lives of Equestria's most vulnerable. It was at the top of a rather large and treacherous mountain, making it hard for those who may harm the children to get to them, and harder for the sick children to leave while their treatments were being administered. Try as she might not even her best cures could help them, only make them more comfortable.

One day, after a long return trip from town to pick up much needed supplies, Auntie came upon a crumpled, black figure in the snow. The creature she would come to know as Castor the Exile, seemed on the verge of a melancholy-driven death. Despite his terrifying appearance Auntie, true to form, helped the changeling hobble to her hospital, where she immediately strapped the weak creature to a bed, as to not endanger her other wards.

Over time she began to realize that not only did her changeling ward not have any ill intent to pony kind, but his almost obscene knowledge in botany helped her improve her potions and usher her other wards to an even more speedy recovery. Having earned her trust, Castor became her full time assistant, confidant, and something more. His loving support gave her time away from her wards to better develop her potions and treatments. His passing comments and knowledge of rare plants helped her develop more potent cures and, soon, she discovered the missing ingredient to her often lacking remedies: the magic of unconditional and persevering love.

Upon discovering the missing ingredient, and completing the cure for the plague, an inner light burst from her, and she emerged an alicorn. Despite her transformation, Auntie rejected her "princess" status to continue to care for sick children and share her life with her love-made-immortal companion...
