Nice effort, I like the negative hair in the clothing, the eyes look great with the highlight & the through light showing form, don't be scared to go darker on the hair just to give it that extra punch ( I know this is hard to do, I still struggle). Another thing don't forgot to tone up to the line like on the chin & the nose rather than have a solid line work the shades up to meet that line making the tones seamless and the overall effect more even and then if required darken down the shadows further. For great portraits artist on Deviant Art I look at examples of work from rajacenna [link] & amberj8 [link] these artists are great realistic artists & I think you may get benefit from looking at their work.
