Description The origin

Firestorm, also known as Nuclear Man, first appeared in March 1978 was the first issue of his own series, Firestorm the Nuclear Man, by Gerry Conway and Al Milgrom.

The new superhero was quite peculiar characteristics. First, it emphasized their physical appearance, wearing a striking red and yellow uniform and fiery hair. Second, this hero was an amalgam of two people: the student Ronald Raymond and Professor Martin Stein.

Ronald and Martin were involved in a nuclear accident that took place in a company called Hudson Nuclear Facility. Ronald was a high school student and Martin, a professor of nuclear physics Nobel Prize. After the accident, both could be merged into the hero known as Firestorm. Ronald held the body because he was awake when the explosion took place while Martin was a kind of immaterial consciousness. Firestorm faced new supervillains as Multiplex or Killer Frost, who was recently seen in Spain in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Firestorm's powers are logically related to nuclear energy. Thus, it is capable of, nothing more, nothing less, to manipulate matter at will. It also has more traditional superpowers like flying, super strength project and some rays.

The library was closed in the fifth issue, the victim of the "DC Implosion." There was a sixth number ready to be released the same 1978 in Cancelled Comics Cavalcade # 1. However, Conway was not about to abandon his creation and, in June 1980, Firestorm joined the Justice League in Justice League of America No. 179. Also in 1980, he starred as a complement to its own serial in The Flash from the number 289, it was eight-page stories that lasted until December 1981, and had artists such as Jim Starlin, Pat Broderick and George Perez himself.

Where to eat two, eat three

In 1982, the Nuclear Man got a new regular series called The Fury of Firestorm. The first issue was presented to Firehawk, which was actually Lorraine Reilly, daughter of a senator. Multiplex abducted her and made a replica Firestorm female to finish him off. The girl collapsed and shortly thereafter became a superhero and Firestorm girlfriend. In the new collection, drawn by Pat Broderick, Conway did not light enough stories free comic situations. Ronald ended up graduating from high school and went to the University of Pittsburgh, where he taught Martin Stein.

In 1987, John Ostrander took over the scripts of the collection, with Joe Brosowski to pencils. With them, Firestorm became a hero with environmental trends and the stories became darker. The hero demanded the United States and the Soviet Union to renounce nuclear energy as a weapon. After the rejection, Firestorm Pozhar ended fighting in Nevada, it was a Russian metahuman also possessed atomic powers. Both were bombed with nuclear weapons, and Pozhar, whose name was Mikhail Arkadin, merged with Ronald and Martin Firestorm's body.

Later, Ron and Mikhail ceased to be part of Firestorm. Thus, Martin Stein was alone in the body than would a fire elemental, with more extensive powers if fit. The new Firestorm went into outer space to explore the universe and Ron ended up suffering from leukemia as a result of superhero adventures. Martin returned to Earth and offered re-merging to save his life. Ronald refused, and Martin was euthanized restored the boy as the sole member of Firestorm and disappeared forever.

Ronald had returned to its original appearance as Firestorm, and came under the tutelage of Ray Palmer, Atom. Power was part of Company and, briefly, the Justice League contemporary.

The new Firestorm

In 2004, DC launched a new series called Firestorm. Written by Dan Jolley and Chris Chross, the collection features the adventures of a new Firestorm. It is also a student of Jason Rusch, who becomes the superhero in question merged with anyone. As for Ron, his current situation is quite related to Identity Crisis.

Good here I leave my humble version of Firestorm!.
