Name: Florentine Diamond
Pronouns: She/Her
Gem Location: Right Palm (get it? green thumb?)
Appearance: An almost tree like appearance, with moss hanging from her and antler/branches on her shoulders and head. She has a skirt, with a connected sleeveless top and vines snaking around her body, and rose on her chest.

Backstory: Florentine Diamond, in real life, is a lost diamond. It is confirmed as a real thing, however it's whereabouts are unknown and disputed. Thusly, Florentine Diamond here is a "forgotten" diamond, left over after the gem war. Back when Pink Diamond's shattering was approaching, an extra diamond was incubated in case the rebels endangered the well being of PD and they needed a sudden new leader (If you believe YD or WD shattered PD, then one of them ordered the secret incubation of another diamond, to replace Pink). However, after the shattering, chaos erupted, and the Earth was flung into a war, leaving the newly emerged diamond to have to play desperate catch up. She gathered a small court, and sought to help Homeworld... somewhat. Being new and fresh on the Earth, she came to question the authority that didn't teach her early on about loyalty. Towards the end of the war, she expressed this to YD (thinking YD would understand. Florentine is rather naive). YD was sick of the Earth and wanted to get out before the corruption, and cracked her gem. YD let her forces rampage Florentine's small court, hoping to keep them disabled long enough to be corrupted (A fate worth the price of treason, in her eyes). YD underestimated the Earth, however. The flora and fauna grew into these cracked gems, becoming one with there life source and one with their being. After many centuries past, gems from her court began to reform, with the plant life on them grown into their gem, into their form. More and more of these gems began to emerge and come forth, waiting for their lost diamond to appear. After all the court had emerged, finally the lost diamond Florentine was able to form herself. She had the most different form, sporting vines all along her body and branch antlers growing from her. Her court looked up to her leadership, and asked what they were to do now. To thank the Earth for saving the court from corruption and death, she built her court around the prospect of cultivating the land, protecting corrupted gems, and keeping her patch of earth safe from harm.

Personality: A bit naive and submissive, Florentine runs her court with the advice of her older, more experienced Agate (AKA Agate practically runs the court *cough*) and her beloved pearl. She hasn't existed for too long compared to most (considering she was in a plant for so long), and is still rather immature for a Diamond. She is really trusting, and doesn't want to think this beautiful planet would want to hurt her in any way. So when someone or something betrays her/hurts her land, she believes in creative punishment. She doesn't believe in killing others as punishment, rather giving them a torturous task or jail (I.e, try to cut or hurt a plant, and you will be kept inside a special tree she has. The tree slowly drains the essence from the gem, so don't stay in too long .

Name: Pistachio Pearl
Nicknames: Tachi, Pistachio
Pronouns: She/Her
Gem Location: Right Palm (same as her diamond)
Appearance: A short tarp in the front and back, with transparent sleeves connected to a small crop top. She has vines snaking around her body and a rose on her eye.

Backstory: Pistachio Pearl originally belonged to a Green Sapphire, but was gifted to Florentine Diamond as a guide, to teach her how Homeworld functioned. Tachi wasn't opposed to to this, in her eyes change meant possibility. But then she realized something: If she (and an Agate, who had also been sent to Florentine) were to teach this Diamond to treat Pearls with some respect, maybe Tachi could have some leeway in certain areas. Though the Agate clearly showed how to treat a pearl, Florentine was still new, and treasured Tachi. Having a guide who wasn't so bent on rules and war tactics was fun, and Florentine and Tachi got along greatly. When YD rampaged Florentine's court, Tachi was cracked as badly as Florentine, for YD held her equally responsible for her Diamond's beliefs. She dissipated into her gem last out of the court, desperate to find Florentine's gem and make sure it wasn't shattered. She never did, but was overjoyed to find her diamond alive when the court came back and Florentine re-emerged. Tachi still helps Florentine run the court, happy to have her opinion valued and be with her Florentine.

Personality: Pistachio Pearl speaks her mind, and likes to word things too eloquently for most to understand, so they have to ask her to rephrase and feel stupid. Shes a bit cocky, but she does this to prevent other gems from treating her like pearls are normally treated (Florentine's gems tend to dislike Pistachio... wonder why?). She is usually found pacing her Diamond's shoulder antlers, whispering suggestions into Florentine's ear and calculating the tasks at hand.

welp, this took forever. I tried a new way of shading, and I really dig it! Too bad the pearl turned out better than her diamond though haha. ANyway, I had to enter this contest, it was really fun to play with a spriggan aesthetic on a gem.
