It treats endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and in some cases Polycystic ovary syndrome. Most people admit to being on birth control for reasons other than to prevent birth. If you have a high chance of ovarian cancer it can even prevent that!

But like all medications birth control has it's side effects and should be discussed with your dr. Not all people can take just any sort of birth control. That is why costs might be higher than another. Please for the love of gawd stop telling people to just switch birth control when they point out how much their birth control costs. It is not that simple. Also, some birth controls are more effective at treating different medical conditions mentions above. Not all types of birth control will treat all types of medical conditions!

Unless birth control is taken for the duration of pregnancy it is not an abortifacient. If you are sexually active using birth control for the love of gawd invest in some pregnancy tests. They are not expensive and can be gotten for free. If that is a case for you to hate birth control then you might as well hate the majority of medications a person takes while sexually active. Most of them are bad for the fetus. If you won't complain about other meds don't complain about birth control and how harmful it is to the fetus. Encourage people to be responsible.

As for the it thins the lining of the uterus thing, no. It does not. Birth control prevents ovulation. While on birth control once the lining of the uterus is shed it won't build back up because the body is not ovulating. If birth control fails and ovulation happens the lining of the uterus will rebuild. The lining doesn't stay thick. That is why periods happen people!

Also, if it really happens for a blastocyst to be aborted who should care? A perosn's uterus spontaneously aborts a blastocyst more times than not. It can't even be detected in a pregnancy test until several days after implantation. Most of the time the body spontaneously aborts. At this point a fertilized egg is just a bunch of cells.

As for it being slut insurance and promoting promiscuity no.... most types of birth control hinder the libido. If anything it makes people less promiscuous.

When you are anti-birthcontrol and want to ban birth control you are preventing people from seeking treatments for debilitating to deadly medical conditions of the reproductive organs. How is that being prolife? If you were prolife you would care about all human life. Not just the blastocyst and whether or not it has the chance to become a fetus. At this point you are just profetus and nothing more.
