Red. Such a lively passionate colour. It is definitely used well here. My favourite parts of this work though are that corset-skirt and the wig. The light and the details bounce off of them so well. The model's expression and pose suggest an exaggerated weariness that contrasts greatly with the vibrant reds she is wearing. All the lines in the background call one's attention to the face, which stares elsewhere, distracted.
I feel I have to apologise, though, for my next statement. The background seems so lacking and flat when compared to the foreground.

Hmmm, for me backgrounds are meant to stay in the background so that the focus remains on the subject. That said, the photo as a whole might be a little more effective if perhaps the background were a little darker (lighter always seems to come forward) and perhaps blurred a bit.
I've noticed a lot of the cosplay are sort of stylized period pieces so a background like this works in that context. I don't for instance seeing something like a sold white or black being more effective. I'm curious what you would suggest? I mean this sincerely btw, not in any sarcastic way.

I love the shot, the pose, and the vibrant colours...
You could try doing something similar by doing a shot where you are on the ground and shoot from your feet....which would make parts blurry and others stand out...It could be a challenge???
But anyhows I love the shot and the colours....you should keep this up...its brilliant xx
