Also known as a Pink-Capped Fruit Dove or Swainson’s Fruit Dove, and mostly found in eastern lowland rainforests of Australia aswell as the forests of northern Australia. Unsurprisingly, their diet consits mostly of fruits.

I found this guy in the Australia Zoo rainforest aviary in Beerwah, Queensland. I didn’t know the species at first, thanks to Shelley Warbrooke for identifying it for me.

Shot on the 21st of November 2009 with a Canon 450d and a 70-300 is usm telephoto at 190mm.
