Description
I stared up as the sun finally slipped beyond the horizon and the moon made its way into the sky. Looking at it made something uncurl inside of me, stretching its limbs, writhing under my skin. I felt it start in my chest, spreading throughout my body like a disease in my blood. My arms shook uncontrollably and my body twisted at weird angles, forcing me closer to the ground. Closing my eyes, I found myself transported to a cold, dark place. My mind.
And in front of me stood my worst nightmare.
Its pelt was shining silver, spreading the colour over some darkness. It had the bluest eyes I had ever seen, the same blue as mine, peering at me with endless intelligence. It was a fully matured wolf, at the prime of its strength, and it would never change. Its head was cocked to the side, gazing at me in puzzlement.
I stood my ground, knowing that I would be able to beat the wolf, the monster inside of me, trying to get out. I knew it couldn’t talk, or probably think for itself, so I stood, waiting for the blow.
Then I heard my voice.
“Why do you resist me?”
But it wasn’t coming from my own lips. It was coming from the wolf. This thing had learned to talk, had learned to be intelligent.
And now I was afraid.

This is a little exerpt from 'The Immortals - Contract'. I wrote this chapter, chapter 4, and I especially loved the main character (Rolf's) wolf conscious Aswin. Aswin means protector in Old English, and it suited the position very well.
So this is Rolf's inner wolf (essentially himself, but also a different soul), but I kinda gave him some cool stuff. In the story he eventually will have a foreleg greave and a forehead marking, but he doesn't YET.
so yeah. and the text in the picture is based on one of my favorite parts: the end.
