Description This is by my favorite Lolita Dress that was inspired by a Rococo 1770's Travel style Bodice.
So no, this dress is not meant to follow the strict guidelines that are given for lolita
My goal is to create lolita dresses that are inspired by period clothing ranging from the 1700's - 1900's

Completely forgot what the name of the fabric is but it is usually in the upholstery section.

The black material used for the ruffles if black Poly/cotton blend.

This dress will be for sale on my website www.eccentrictortoise.com soon (no later than 8/26/11) if you would like to purchase it prior please PM me.

Wow, one of the prettiest lolita dresses I've seen! You have to be a really talented seamstress to redesign old patterns like that ;A;

Actually that's the thing I'm crazing about for some time now, getting myself to start similar project, but for more specific period of early Victorian era (1830s and 1840s), like, three years? Guess your work will stimulate me a little. Thanks a lot! <3

This is such a pretty dress! I love the design. It looks kind of heavy though, like the ones they had in the old west days. I couldn't wear this in Texas, as I wouldn't survive and would be sprawled on the ground somewhere. We are in the middle of a severe drought and heat wave. I think we've had 46 days of 100* plus weather. You are very talented. Great job.

I live in San Antonio so the know the Texas heat well and yes it's beyond miserable I have no grass in my back yard because of it. It is pretty hot cuz of the heat but the fabric isn't that heavy though it does have that look. Because it is black though I would opt to wear once October hits or in a air conditioned place. Then again I'm nuts and would wear in the heat regardless XD

I believe so, I went back to the fabric store and found one very similar in a merlot color. It's a Belvedere drapery fabric that is 100% Polyester
