Description What's the best type of light?
Why that would be available light...
and by available light I mean any damn light that is available.

Very cool

Lemmie guess ... strobe just in front to your left, and one just behind to your right triggered by a ST-E2 to begin the exposure. You struck a lighter a few times moving upwards, lit it, and dragged it. Close?

Yeah man. That's exactly what I did.
That ST-E2 can be a godsend sometimes...
I gatta run to class.
Later.

that looks wicked, how did you do this?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omega300m In reply to LiquidVortex [2007-03-17 22:44:59 +0000 UTC]

It's a blend of photography and digital post process.
This is a single exposure, using flames and strobes.
I'm glad you like.

I actually did something like this last night
It didnt turn out this good though. Is it multiple exposures, or did you stay still for 10 sec?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omega300m In reply to Knecke [2007-03-17 22:25:04 +0000 UTC]

Nice, you should post it.
This is a single exposure in a dark room using 2 strobes.
I didn't have to remain still because no ambient was being exposed.
