Wanted to be independent about 250-300 years of Russian torture. Nobody loves war, but it is just the Ukrainian thing to do to lay down your body and soul for freedom.

Well, because before we were under Russia, we were under Poland. Poland was accused of Pollanizing Ukrainians (kids in schools, especially), and some peopke like Bandera worked together with the Nazis, so... It was definitely wrong, but it was something like when Bornholm killed a bunch of Swedes in order to get back to Denmark. But in this case we wanted to be independent. Don't ask me why, but we Ukrainians have always been obsessed with independence.
In the end, what we want is a peaceful, independent nation (As demonstrated with the Orange Revolution), but if our independence is threatened, we can go to extreme measures (Like when our president decided to get closer to Russia, resulting in Euromaidan and...This whole mess). Contradictory, I know, but I can't explain in better.

I respect Ukraine's aspirations to independence, but the UPA killed Polish women and children.

Besides , there was not Polonization . A man who is a survivor said that Ukrainians there was much more. Bandera simply wanted to "clean up" the Ukraine with all national minorities.

These people were divided into one older-moderate group, and another more radical group, but I think both were pretty violent.
Since Ukraine was considered Poland even by the Allies, they relied on Germany for a while, before the war.
Specifically during WWII:
After the invasion of Poland in September 1939, both factions of the OUN collaborated with the Germans and used the opportunity of the invasion to send their activists into Soviet-controlled territory. OUN-B leader Stepan Banderaheld meetings with the heads of Germany's intelligence, regarding the formation of Ukrainian staffed forces. On February 25, 1941, the head of Abwehr Wilhelm Franz Canaris sanctioned the creation of the "Ukrainian Legion" under German command. The unit was planned to have 800 persons. OUN-B expected that the unit would become the core of the future Ukrainian army.

maybe, i'm not pro but neither anti or something like that, but is annoying that innocent people are dying. and i'm a little afraid tht some russian politicians did some declarations abut my country too that unfornetely are trough, i don't blame really putin for their stupidity, but they said that romania will be distroyed, after ukraine we are the next "power" in east that kinda bother others.
I really feel sorry, i know how much ukraine had suffer in WW2, just WW2 had lost because of hunger 7 milions of lives, and who knows many others habitans and soldiers. Is not really fear.

just like Pravy and Svoboda, Russia has its share of loons. But unlike YOUR COUNTRY, Russia's radicals are still in the minority and their desires are so far, wishful thinking.
Ukraine is INFESTED with power-hungry right-wing radicals. I heard that Rada is on the verge of being dismantled.
