They were like meaner, deadlier versions of SKRULLS! But Skrulls used of technology instead of magic! And even the devious Skrulls couldn't STAND them! That's right, for all their faults, even the Skrulls thought the Dire Wraiths were ABOMINABLE! It gets worse when you realize that in one issue of ROM, some Skrulls come to earth just to hunt down some Dire Wraiths and ignore any humans involved just so they wouldn't lose focus of the Dire Wraiths they were hunting! Our heroic spaceknight actually asks the Skrulls why they would EVER care enough about humans to come all the way to earth just to protect them from Dire Wraiths and the Skrull leader explains that they DIDN'T. Because humans mean less than NOTHING to (MOST) Skrulls but the Skrulls still came here to hunt down at least a few of them because the Dire Wraiths are somehow RELATED to the Skrulls and consider it an point of pride to get rid of as many as possible! In a way, I almost feel sorry for the Dire Wraiths, they really are their own worst enemy as a race. They're SO evil EVERYONE wants to take them on!

I remember some of those issues! You're right, they were that despicable offshoot race. I miss Rom in the Marvel Universe.

I'm still trying to figure out why he hasn't returned! While I don't think it could be the FIRST Rom, (Let him live in peace with his true love Brandy!) I DO think it should be a NEW Rom with the same spaceknight armor (Have the OLD Rom give him his blessing to wear it or something!) With pretty much the same look but with a few upgrades here and there!
