I was never able to get my keet to perch on my finger. If I put my hand in the cage she'd fang it and even go for a vein ! I also never got her to talk.
She hated the cat. She hated the hamster. The cat tried to get her and also tried to assassinate the hamster (her mother trained her to hunt & kill rodents).

Keep him indoors ! I acquired MY parakeet because he flew away from his original owner. We never found BudgyBudge's owner because nobody answered our FOUND ad.
Parakeets have 3 eyes, the third eye is concealed under feathers and a skull allowing it no access to outside light. It still retains capacity for transmitting light but no image.
Our 3rd eye has wholly lost all visual ability, but has vital functions to control physiological operations.

but one thing bothers me..
the term "parakeet" is used to describe a whole range of different types of small parrot, but the specific name for this type is a budgie...(yes, i do realise BUDGIES come in different colours, but theyre still budgies...) parakeet could be used to describe these... but budgie would be more specific...
sorry if im a nag or rude.. but i have OCD...so umm.. im sorry. i just felt i had to point that out..

In the U.S. he would just be called a Blue Parakeet.
At pet stores they label them as Blue Parakeets, Green Parakeet, and Rare Parakeets.

I have 2 parakeets of my own, and im currently on a vacation, and my friend is taking care of my parakeets. One parakeet, Sugar, flew away while she was cleaning her cage. I'm super sad, because i loved her and she was an amazing bird.
