to be fair it's kind of hard to not notice this stuff when it's on the fp. granted i don't necessarily agree with how MakingFunOfStuff views the situation but they do still have a valid argument. and you have to admit that people who complain about it are hardly a factor in it reaching fp, it's pretty much entirely the admirers

The thing is ... the system is completely fair and unbiased. Whatever is on the frontpage is what people are looking at these days.
And honestly, there are sometimes things I consider pretty .... questionable as well. The difference is, I accept that there are people who like it and just move on, instead of going there and being a little bitch about it.

i'm sure they accept that other people like it as well, but that doesn't mean they can or should handle it in the same way you do. some people just want better filtering and they'd be a-ok. even if you don't "piss and moan" about the art, you do piss and moan about the people who complain about it so either way you're also contributing to the negativity

idk i mean i believe there's a time and place for retaliation and the comment section of a fp photo will likely only bring the opposite of the results you're seeking. i do agree that people could be nicer when making their point in terms of this topic but it could also be that you're just seeing it more aggressive than it actually is. maybe it's good that they're voicing what they think so dA can do something about filtering. maybe then they'll stop complaining

I doubt they will, really.
DA is doing fine filtering-wise if you ask me, the problem is that no matter how much you filter, it will never be enough for some people.
This is part of this new triggered/special snowflake/cater-to-muh-emotions thing that's been going on these days.
A few years ago you simply didn't see this kind of thing on DA, at all. It kinda scares me tbh. Maybe that's why I react that way.

I'm not necessarily blaming the artist. Although it is a stupid pic in my opinion, I think DA needs a better system not dominated by perverts.

Haha very true.. Still not nearly as bad as some other pics that get featured though. But I do wish some great artists had more recognition. :/

The picture does capture some emotion, one can feel the emotion pouring down like the rain and drenching her. She is scantily clad, which means either she is unprotected or most likely, she is intentionally drowning herself. I agree this pic ain't no masterpiece but it definitely ain't about showing skin either. Most of the masterpieces in history, have some nudity so that people who perceive in terms of showing skin will be unable to see the true meaning of an art work. Although, I am sure it does not apply here lol

I think there's a difference between Michelangelo's David and this pic of a lady in a bikini.

It's a decent pic for Instagram, but for an art site the priorities are really in the wrong place.
