Description
I've decided to enter End Run, which is a Pokemon OCT where you essentially make a character to fight in the Pokemon equivalent of WW2.

Anyway, here's my character, Murphy Lyons.

Name: Murphy Lyons
Age: 50
Height/Weight: 154ilb | 5'11
Hometown/Region: Violet City | Johto
Military Faction: Air Force
Extra Items: Carries a compass that belonged to his best friend, Stone. Also carries around a small first aid kit and uses a hunting knife, in the rare occasion that he has to fight close quarters, like if he crashes or something.

Personality: A serious, gruff and bitter war veteran who, while not outright disrespectful, does tend to doubt the ability of anyone younger than him and most people that are older. Rarely smiles.
Although he hasn't died yet (obviously) he tends to be followed by bad luck: if something can go wrong, it usually will. Despite this, he's optimistic in his ability to get things done and usually blames anything that goes wrong on anything but himself. Uses a lot of military slang in his speech.
He suffers from PTSD, and now that he's back in the war it's affecting him worse than ever. However, he was never officially declared to have it, except for a short period after his friend's death where he was declared to have shell shock.

Backstory: Murphy Lyons has lived in Johto all his life, although he spent a little bit of time in Kanto during the Great War. Fought in the Great War for three years before Mew stopped all the guns from working. Murphy witnessed a lot of bad things during that war, not the least of which was his best friend, Stone, getting killed. When the war ended on a reluctant truce, with neither side really winning, Murphy came away extremely bitter that all the death and such had been for nothing.

He spent the next thirty years mostly in Violet City, where his sister and her family live. He often lived with them, and is quite fond of them, especially his two nephews and niece, but he never started a family of his own.

Though Murphy tried to forget about the war over the next three decades, he was unable to completely let go of the bitterness. His PTSD from the events didn't help. The only time he was truly able to escape his memories of the war was through flying. He spent most of those three decades attempting to find jobs that allowed him to fly in some way, usually by watering crops.

However, when news of a new war against Kanto came up, having never left the bitterness behind, Murphy quickly joined up, hoping this time to actually come out victorious. Although he's a bit suspicious about using Pokemon in battle, complaining that 'having guns with free will and possible bad tempers is a terrible idea.' He joined the Air Force instead of the regular army due to his love of flying, and because you don't see your enemy's faces, or most of your allies, when they go down.

Before being captured and trained by the army Kringle spent a lot of his time dropping explosive presents down chimneys, collapsing a lot of chimneys and making a lot of homeowners angry. Is a lot less serious than his new partner, often making faces and mocking the enemy. Right now, Murphy treats Kringle with some suspicion, but they do attempt to cooperate.
