Description Sansa Stark as inspired by Sophie Turner.

For almost as long as I've been hanging around DeviantArt, I've been deeply in awe with digital paintings – and determined to one day (in the far future) learn to do them myself. Thankfully, though there are a lot of amazing tutorials on DeviantArt which help me along on my way. So yes, this picture is a small, hesitant step on my way to my goal of doing "real" digital pictures and, since I'm experimenting and learning, constructive criticism is very much appreciated.

A big "thank you" to the providers of the excellent tutorials that helped me through this: Daniel Oldenburg with his face painting tutorial , TheoVision with his coloring tutorial and Nagare-Boshi and with her fabric pattern tutorial .

hmm... i don't like the outlines of the face. they don't fit in with the rest. i would either do the shadowing like you did with the collarbones and skin, or like you did with the hair. but these thin lines don't fit in with either of them - you know?

apart from that your work is really great. especially considering that this is your first real digital painting. i really love the collarbones, by the way

Oooh! Constructive criticism! Thanks

Iagree, by the way. Initially my idea was to do the lines around the face the way they appear in comics - meaning, a defined line in a slightly darker color than the skin. However, the didn't work out and then I didn't manage to get a clear, sharp distinction to the background when I erased them. Any idea how I can get that sharp edge? Otherwise she ends up having a blurry face

Otherwise - thanks for the support. I appreciate it

um... i understand your problem^^ maybe if you did these lines like you did with the hair? as if you used a brush, wider when you increase the pressure? (does that make any sense to you? i can't talk about art -.-)
but i've never really done digital art myself, so i don't really know :/

Hey, thank you! Now that's motivating

Of course I mention and fave the tutorials that helped me. I'll go back and re-try coloring the lines in the next picture, though. I really liked the effect in your tutorial but didn't yet quite manage to get it myself. I'll keep trying, though

It's what Syrio Forel also told Arya Stark: to become the best you have to practice, practice, practice...

Oh, go ahead and quote my favorite characters! But it's true and - lucky for me - in this case it's fun, too
