Description
This is Ivraiene (Iv-rye-eeen)! Ivraiene does not have a binary gender, so I’ve been using neutral pronouns to describe them. They’re a member of a humanoid race/species of mine called Macrien, which sports an extra set of arms that can fold beneath a flap of skin resting just beneath the base of their wings.
"There will be a time when they won’t give you a chance to defend yourself. If that happens, it’s my job to make sure the odds will be in your favor. If any soldier is to receive a promotion in rank, they have to get through me."
Ivraiene is a partial amputee, after losing an arm in the Cyurian bombings on Gairain’s capital about 47 years prior to the start of the plot. When the explosions were triggered in the court of the High Council, they had been stationed within the chamber and are fairly lucky to have gotten out with just the loss an arm. When Gairain closed its borders, the call for recruitment went out, and once they recovered from their injuries, Ivraiene reenlisted in the military (after proving that they could hold their own in combat with /just/ three arms, of course).
Decades later, they retain the current position of Weapons Master, tasked with testing out any new weapons that official smiths like Tyvierin forge, and (primarily) training new recruits and conditioning current soldiers. A soldier does not move up in rank without a recommendation from either Ivraiene or someone higher up (and Ivraiene’s word influences many of those opinions). So they are well known in their field and have trained many of the ground and aerial troops.
Their lack of an arm is not a weakness, something CoruKai will come to learn in her lessons with this brilliant asshole. I will definitely have them joining in the battles to come once Gairain goes to war.
Ivraiene and Oriancarus story concepts belong to me.
