my oldest son had to read it just recently for the school!
I have seen only the films, both old and later one...
but my reality in 1984 was not much different than what's in the book...
In 1985 there was tanks driving on my street, shutting rokets to peoples houses where are little children...
tv was obductet by comunist leaders and you had to have permission for to be after 8 in evening on the street, otherwise they had right to arrest you just for walking on the street and torture you like SS-mans in WWII...
there was no freedom!
it was not much different than farm for animals...
and if you didn't attend 1may the march on the street with a little flagg than you could loos the job if you had brain washed people around you just waiting for opportunity to get higher position on your corpse...
for to fix something officialy you had no chanse without german chocolade bar in your hand -(polish one is not eatible!);or a bottle of vodka!!!
that shool -(in Holland)- also asked onse to write about:- "if the people went to the moon,or not?"-!!!- hehe!

You are lucky,I got to hear: - "shshsh...beter not speak about this things..."
seriously, until now my mother don't want to speak about politics on the fone...
maby You recall that polish airplain full with the most important polititians going to pay - and get - respect for all killed people in Katyn, that russians mordered under cover of german brutality...
...and they get wipe out in one move!
I'm not yet sure who stand behind, cause just after that America set a wall of rockets on polish teritory directed to Russia...,what ofcourse they took like preattack!...

It is a damn shame that the world is the way it is... it doesn't have to be like that... its greed and selfishness that make it that way.... thats why I do what I do with my art...

Thank you.... My father read Animal Farm and 1984 to me at a pretty young age... they have been favorites of mine ever since... I have read each at least a dozen times.... and though my understanding of them has changed over the years... my love for all of Orwell work has not...

This is amazing. I love these colors and lines so much! And Orwell's "1984" and "Animal farm" are my favorite, so now I'm trying to find all the references you put in your beautiful work.

I consider this a tribute piece, and I put a lot of thought into my tribute pieces. Orwell is at the top of my favorite authors list. I referenced quite a bit of his literary work in this painting, and other things I knew or recently discovered about him. If you have not read Orwell, you are missing out, his words ring true from the grave to this day... across space and time.
