History: This horse was brought in by her owner who wanted us to train her back into show condition. We saw the animal and almost immediately contacted authorities to remove her from their care. She is currently in fostering at Wolf's Tail Stables.
Diagnosis: Greatly overweight, severely damaged hind left leg, and obviously needs hoof care.
Treatment: Strict diet of low quality hay mixed with vitamins and supplements (NO ALFALFA), should be kept in pasture or taken along on rides daily. Leg should be monitored for signs of infection and bandaging should be changed daily. Also farrier needs to start working on her hooves, possibly corrective shoeing.
