Description >_> Seriously, how does one even do a backround that doesn't end up looking like an elementary school kid did it? D: Tutorials are crap since the majority of them skip over important details or assume you know everything, which defeats the point of a tutorial. I swear, I've seen too many tutorials that go "and then you do ____" and next step looks like they skipped about 10 steps :/
So my options are, no backround, single color backround or shitty backround that lowers the overall quality

Also >_> how to color? I swear, looking at a ton of other stuff out here, I feel like I must have missed the part where everyone suddenly learned how to color really well.
Even quite a few less skilled people, have way higher color skills

If tutorials aren't helping, watch speedpaints and streams. I've found those to be way more helpful~

I've tried speedpaints too and those don't seem to help me. Watching art in lightning speed with everything else blurry as crap doesn't help since I can't see what tools/how many layers/different shades D: All I see from speedpaints are rapid colors going down and then looking nice half a second later

And a good majority of streams I can't watch because infinite buffering every couple seconds

Ah, yeah, speedpaints arent really good for learning about tools and layers. But in all honesty, neither of those are very important, because whatever you're comfortable with is what you should use. If thats what youre trying to learn, just play with the tools and see what they do.
For me, when im watching a speedpaint, i'll sometimes watch and rewatch just a 20 second section like 50 times until i figure out what i wanted to learn from it. Just watching a speedpaint wont do anything. You've got to ask yourself questions like "why does it suddenly look good? why have they decided to do things in this order? are all these steps necessary for me or are they things that are unique to this artist?" etc. Art is very much a thinking activity. If youre not thinking a lot, then youre going to have a hard time learning anything.

Dunno what to say about the buffering. Try watching them once theyve ended and are in the streamers library?

But it's still difficult to learn from it when the video quality is usually eh, so then you just see a single shade go down, yet somehow looks 20x better than when you do it.

Tried that too, idk what it is about certain streaming sites, but only a very few work fine with my craptastic internet, even ones that are finished buffer infinitely

Then watch better quality videos o.o Theyre definely out there.
And the reason it looks good when they do it is because they've put in the time and effort to make it look good. Theyve already put in the time learning how to do it which is why they make it "look easy".
