Description Terra Cotta clay.
(This is a piece I was working on at the OM Arts team retreat.)

The tree doesn't worry about HOW to grow, or produce fruit. It's written in the DNA of the tree. All the tree has to do is remain deeply rooted.

Technical note: I've started using a large sheet of neutral gray paper for a backdrop for finished pieces.  This gives me a nice, seamless background.  I still like the soft texture and slightly darker color of the clay bats that I've been using up to now, but not the sharp seam you get in the middle of the background.  Oh well... Just keep trying new things to see what works...

Interesting, because this is another one of my more "personal" works, sort of like "Shattered".

I love your ideas and how you realize them! The expression in her face says that she is part of the universe, there is nothing to worry about...Without the root, there's no growing, very deep.Great work!

Of all the details on this piece (and there are a lot of them), the look on her face is what gives me the most joy. That's exactly the feeling I was trying to convey.  It's not easy to get expressions on faces that small, but this one definitely made it.

(Oh, and you always make my day a little sweeter, Esra.  I always enjoy it when I get to read your comments.  Blessings to you, dear one. )

I envy trees sometimes, though as studies show, they produce chemicals similar to hormones, including "stress" chemicals. Even though they don't have to worry about their future, they also can't run away from danger.
Wonderful work!

Ha! yes, there are always advantages and disadvantages to everything.   They just seem to have learned to depend on their Maker much more than we ever seem to be able to...

Blessings!

Yeah... it's funny how this piece "flowed" as I was creating it.  This was one of those pieces where I had a very clear image in my head before I even started, and there was a very strong story behind it.  I may need to just keep this as a part of my own collection, since it embodies some important things I was learning...
