Description "What are these...capsules?" Taskmaster finally took notice of the bag full of capsules next to the chair. It had been over four hours since they left the town, and the rumbling of Winterbane had started to become commonplace. They were travelling up and across the treacherous path of the mountains, where one wrong turn could be fatal. Isabeth leaned near the front of the tank, peering into the visor.

"Handle carefully, they are explosives I stole from overlord." She spoke, her eyes still fixated upon the rocky, snow covered path as the tank hovered slowly across. With weary hands the old man picked up an explosive, observing the intricate work that was put into these. They were precise, every part of it was designed to give off the loudest boom as it seared the flesh of the unfortunate ones in its area, he lamented the fact that his kind did not have the skills to craft such explosives masterfully.

"Augus won't like that, I've seen what she can do. Blew off an entire wall in a rage when I last argued with her." He reminisced as he put the explosive back and rested his aching back against the wall, he took out a knife from his pocket and began scratching the edges of his mask with it. Isabeth kept on staring out into the distance.

"She is hothead, but Deima has taken care of that. She played part good enough for me to get these."Β

Taskmaster chuckled softly through his mask vents as he slid onto the leather seat.

"Played good enough alright..."

Isabeth turned her head around to look at the old man, her eyes narrowed slightly.

"You imply something, old friend."

Taskmaster's eyes narrowed as he pointed his knife towards the pale demon.

"You know me too well, she has fucked overlord. Daughters saw them together last night, smiling and drunk. They both said there was fire in her eyes as she spoke with overlord." He explained, there was a brief silence before the demon looked back into the visor.

"You knew it, yes?" Taskmaster asked, another brief moment of silence followed before the demon turned around and walked up to the old man, she sat down opposite to him. The insides of the tank rumbled from the arduous climb, one could feel the cold seep in from the slits and the warmth of the machinery clash against it. She sighed to herself as she rested her arms upon the table.

"Yes, I have seen fire before. It is funny, I am known in their world as slayer of lords...but now my daughter has fallen in love with one. It worries me." She rested her cheek upon her fist, bumping up and down from the shuddering of the travel. Taskmaster stabbed the knife into the metallic surface, before leaning back and folding his arms.

"She chooses own path in life, as should we all. I would not worry too much, besides who else could warm Deima's bed than hothead lord?" A small laugh flew out from the vents in his mask, Isabeth simply snorted.

"You are strange man." She replied.

"And you are strange demon, that is why we are both here." He shot back, the rumbling began to intensify and the distant sounds of birds began to fill both their ears. Isabeth walked over to the slit and peered into the distance, in front of them stood a mountainous cliff topped with a skull-like formation. It was old, frozen, as if it had been worked into the land for thousands of years. She recognised the formation, she had seen this before when she traveled to the outpost.

"We are getting close." She spoke with a sharp, icy edge to her voice. Taskmaster stood up and took out his trusted shotgun out from below the seat, if they were close then he would have to get his gun ready. Just in case there was any creature that would threaten both of them, the land was filled with terrible beasts after all.

They were edging beyond the north. A place never charted nor explored, and for good reason. Beyond the north, there was only death.

New finale piece, Isabeth and Taskmaster set out onto their journey to find and end Monarkh. They travel across the land in search of him, and they are coming closer with each hour.

Enjoy!

such an omminious feeling loom over them, not from just the mountain or the monster lurking over them...but from how far remote monarkh location isΒ
