timelapse: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScW1z0…character re-draw! i decided to re draw one of my spyro fan characters from when i was about 10, because i was having a massive art block and i didn't know what to draw sooo i wanted to improve one of my old characters and tbh this was quite fun, seeing my old beginner digital art transform to something that looks a lot better and seeing this 8/9 year improvement was pretty nice to see where everyday practice of a certain hobby can get you in a couple of years, even if it seems like the progress is so slow sometimes. so to every kind of artist out there or anyone who has a certain hobby that they enjoy, keep practicing and trust me your skills will open up so many new possibilities for you c:

Those cheek horns seem to be impractical in more than one situation. Nice design, though.

Neither nor. It's just hard for me to imagine to do certain things with those horns on my cheeks, if I would be that dragon. Maybe it would bring some advantages in fighting but also some disadvantages, like how does she actually bite into something without stabbing the opponent at the same time? And after the horns stuck in the opponents flesh it might be difficult to get them back out with those barbed hook on the horns.
Also eating could become impractical. And because dragons don't have hands like humans they often comfort each other with their heads / cheeks. Kinda unpleasent for her friends and loved ones I guess.
I might overthink this a bit. It IS a really cool desgin and I'm sure she knows how to handle these horns, because she was born with them, but I would need a lot of practice to not hurt me or others with them by accident. ^^

ah yeah i understand ya, in my imagination they would be in a proportion where they are still on her cheeks but don't stick out too much so they don't unintentionally hurt any of her dragon buddies :> but still, they would probably get in the way here and there aha

I think you may have gone a bit overkill with the specular highlights but otherwise very nice.
