Description Practicing doing backgrounds and stuff

Kinda getting better with presenting a more 3D image but i still have a lot of work to do when it comes to colours >..<

I've been super super busy lately but the sem's almost over! I might consider opening commissions when over the summer break! i'm looking to buy a bicycle (sounds like something small but i have a few health issues that i want to sort out and i kinda need a bicycle lol) but i won't be able to get a part-time job due to certain family commitments so i'm hoping commissions might be able to help me out a little! Please go look at the polls and add your vote if they're applicable

I like it! May I ask what size canvas you use when you do your work? I'm having trouble knowing what I'd a well rounded average size to make my stuff look ok.

this is actually a really good question and i think every artist you ask would give you a very different answer! What i usually do is start off by using one of the standard sizes in SAI. I usually just pick either the 1024x768 canvas (for works that i know i'll be doing a background for) or get the 800x600 (i choose this single character works so i usually invert the sizes to make it portrait).
From there i'll do the sketch and just keep expanding and adjusting the size of the canvas depeding on whether i need more space or not! if you use SAI, you can do this by clicking Canvas --> canvas size --> extend canvas. then expand the sides by the amount you want!

hope this helps! and thank you ^^
