"Please, you know me, Kurai! I was in your ranks as a rifleman; I was there the day the Senate sent you to the House, you've got to let me go...I-I have relevance, high status relevance, I could push a little influence to leave the North...it'll be yours, but you gotta let me go!"
Alreich Holdman, rifleman to the Northern Second Wave Battalion slumped to his knees before Kurai, who grazed him with cold eyes and pursed lips, adorned with black antlers that wrapped around his head like a crown and golden jewels that reflected ever so slightly in the dimming light. Alreich was a prisoner of war now, far beyond his unit and even further from any defense; he knew this. The spiced scent of foreign Archian oils that permeated the air reminded him every moment this was likely the end. He sobbed before Kurai and he felt like a coward for doing it.
There was a flock of winged Archs that stood quietly beyond his blurred vision, their piercing eyes curing his discomfort. Kurai loomed above him, silent himself, and narrowed his eyes."You can't kill me like this, not like this." He felt his face run hot as Kurai spoke, his voice smooth, stern, and direct, "I do remember you. I remember your words as I walked through the Senate Halls after judgement." Alreich's eyes widened. Kurai continued. "I also remember you jeering at the loss of my status and you had hoped I be..what were the words..." Alreich held his breath, the crowd of Archs unwavering, then Kurai looked towards his subjects.
"Ah, yes, that I would "be bled dry for all to see, like the bastard I was"." Cold eyes shot back down to Alreich, who dared take a breath. "Is that not what you told me?"
Fidgeting, Alreich motioned to bow, "Forgive me, I didn't mean for my words to follow you like this, I never meant them, you-" Kurai then drew a black handled dagger, simple in design, and with the other hand gently caressed Alreich's face. The advance froze him, and though he didn't intend a croaked whisper, it was just that, "I have a family..." His words jittered weakly.
In that moment there was no pity, not from the silent audience nor from Kurai, whose cold eyes were challenging his very existence.
"How unfortunate."

I am not a writer. There's probably loads of grammatical issues and it's not very fleshed out. I usually post these things to Instagram with limited words. However, I do enjoy writing these though and hope you guys might fancy very small snippets of my story.
