Yeah, he just seemed the weaker of the bunch in the anime. Kind of weird, since he could've used the Leaf Shield to absorb fire attacks without harm.

Which is cool in its own way, if done properly. I'm thankful he wasn't Anetta's Navi in the anime, he would've died of his embarrassment stuck with a role like that.

Yeah, Plantman just seems like the type to hold his own as a solo Navi. In the manga, he also acted without an operator. I never cared for Anetta, and I don't think Plantman was a suitable Navi for her in any case.
