YESSS, I'm a bit late here but this portrait + that adrinette one??? so glad i finally logged in for this (?)
I'm in love with the effects you use for this kind of screenshots, and I think you actually improved a ton from the last one too. This is more polished and the color palette is so atmospheric!

YES THANK U FOR NOTICING (the effects, improvement etc.) I just- really love the feel of fake old anime screenshots, so aesthetic. also I'm glad the atmosphere got pulled off, I was going for a bit of a different feel than the last one (more grungy less pastel)
But wow, thank u for noticing the differences from the old one!

No problem! And It honestly made me so happy to see another one of these in your gallery, the last one was already stunning and it's clear you perfected the style even more for this one, regardless of the colors used. Always happy to comment in your portraits too, on top of being pretty they're also so much fun!

I'm so glad you like how they both turned out these are really the only ones where I experiment with background (that should change, I need to study backgrounds more) and atmosphere, so I'm so happy that the feeling came across accurately
I do try and add a feeling on dynamic energy in those pieces too yah know? Like, not crazy poses but, I try and make these screenshots feel in motion, like her head turning from the back or her hair flairing out to suggest turning mid frame. Was kinda playing with this idea more in the recent one ^^ OOPSY went off on a tangent there, point is, I'm glad u think they are fun!

No problem! And as long as you still experimemt and find ways of painting that are still to your liking, I think your approach is perfectly fine too. Plus I think of art as something I love and enjoy doing, so I think that if I stuck to an "improvement" plan of sorts it would start feeling like less of a passion and more of a chore.
And you're not going off on a tangent at all, its always very interesting to hear the inner workings of other artists! Besides, you nailed the movement you were speaking of, since I got the feeling of the character turning at first glance. Definitely imposing!

True, sometimes I think I pressure myself to find a way to make improvements or make something better, but then find myself in this unsatisfied loop with the process o-o I think that's the true danger with art, you know?
But, that was kinda the beauty of this one, the improvement just came from prior practice stuff, plus it was a thing that I really enjoyed doing! (fake screenshot feel) so overall, really satisfied it came with improvement AND it was fun, which is the best combo ever
.....plus I was thinking of experimenting with animation soon, just for funsies
