It's nice to see somesome take the time and effort to work in the traditional mediums, so many people claims to be artists when all they use is the in-built functions of a computer applying pre-made textures and effects and great undo button.
Love the work here and I'm sure when you held this up when you'd finished you felt that great satisifaction of knowing the paint/inks staining your fingers had gone to create a wonderful piece of art.
A much overused saying these days, but this is keeping it real.

Totally agree with the Zelda comment - my first thought was something along the lines of "I'd be so scared to have to battle this thing in some videogame"...
I love that you did this in traditional media (I've been watching you quite a while btw). Way to disqualify yourself from the get go, though. I've yet to see a traditional media entry make it in one of these contests. (The traditional entries that made it to the semis this time were the two sculptures, which is an enitrely different beast altogehter, literally.) Correct me if I'm wrong. This is one of the times I'd love to be wrong.

Hej, sorry for the late reply. DeviantArt kind of stopped working on Firefox and I just realized I might as well try another browser (et voilΓ )...
That's my first time seeing a sculpture on a contest, but then I'm not a regular (contest watcher/participant/whatever). It's a shame about the traditional 2D art. I don't get it. Maybe it's because if the work wins, they'd have to get the original (physical) copy to do a really good scan or something? I can see how that would be troublesome. On the other hand, considering what kind of entries usually make the top positions (in the 3~4 contests I've seen) ... these judges are simply blind, hate creativity and ... aah, well. Guess, unlike the community the judges aren't artists. That would explain the completely different "community choices" (if there are any).
Personally, I recently sorted my watch-list and realized I'm pretty much disinterested in most CG art out there. And there is pretty amazing stuff. Still, I love even the crudest watercolor pic more than all the famed CG stuff together. Weird. And I just came to that realization after buying a Wacom tablet. *face palm* ...

I must just tell you how simply amazed I am at your work. It brightens my day and makes me so extremely happy to know all of your stuff or a huge majority of it is all traditional. It's people like you who keep true art alive!
Real art is the art done without an undo button.
Your whole gallery feels me with aw, shock, and undying joy at the things you are able to accomplish.
True skillz, you have them and make wonderful master pieces with them!

Anyways, I'm not sure...Well I can see what I think is its head, but I'm not sure if it's given much significance. It kind of looks like...Just a body to me.

Amazing work, my dear. This looks like so much more than a week of work. Congratulations, and never stop being proud of this.
