I decided to paint something more simple (had so much fun laying out these watercolour mixtures!) yet nostalgic... I spent years in far North and sometimes I miss it.Related content

I like how you used the element of coincidence with letting patterns emerge through application of colour and water and then drew around that. It almost looks like the wolf is howling against a wall of glass or ice, letting frost appear on the surface as he breathes against it. Fits in with what you wrote about being away from the place you spent years at and that you now sorely miss. The wolf seems similarly to yearn for the Northern Lights, but it's like he is separated from that place of longing by an invisible wall. Beautifully haunting!

The pose reminds me of one Khaosdog did, with a starry wolf, called "And the stars stole his breath". I always loved that, and the name stuck with me all these years.
This is a lovely piece, even if it's simple. ^_^
